Spring Home Styling

Amy Edwards |

As the days grow longer and flowers start to bloom, it's the perfect time to dust off the cobwebs, throw open the windows and treat your house to a thorough spring clean ready for this seasons fresh and vibrant decor.

From bright colours to natural elements, there are endless possibilities to transform your space into a cozy and inviting sanctuary that reflects the beauty of the season. In this blog post, we'll explore some of the top trends in spring interior to help you create a stylish and inviting home that reflects the  essence of spring.

Declutter

Spring cleaning isn't just about tidying up – it's also a great opportunity to declutter and reorganise your space. Clear out any unnecessary clutter, donate or recycle items you no longer need and look for creative yet beautiful storage solutions.  Wicker baskets are a simple yet stylish, addition to any room at this time of year and will hide those small household items that you don’t wish to have on show; TV controls, books, matches. - you get the picture. Alternatively, make a statement with a selection of throws spilling out of your wicker basic for both style and practicality when the temperature drops.

Fresh Spring Colours

One of the easiest ways to capture the spirit of spring in your home is by incorporating fresh colours. Think blush pinks, mint greens, sky blues and light neutrals to create a fresh spring ambiance.  Consider swapping out heavy, darker soft furnishings for cool linens and fresh cottons. Simply changing the cushion covers on your bed and adding crisp white cotton bedding, will transform your bedroom without breaking the bank.

Organic materials, such as linen throws, stone candle holders and natural vases dotted around your home is another way to add a subtle hint of spring to your home.

Bring the Outdoors In

Nothing says spring like fresh cut flowers and natural organic elements. And for that, you may not need to look any further than your own back garden. So pull on your wellies, prize the kids away from their devices and head outside to see what you can all find.  Style your spoils in simple vases on kitchen tops, sideboards, bedsides, even in the downstairs loo for a fresh vibrant nod to spring. And remember, it’s not just flowers that look great in vases. Oddly shaped branches and tall grasses look incredible and unique when styled in large stone pots and vases.

Beautiful Scents

Whilst you can’t beat the fresh aroma of flowers in your home, you can come close with a beautiful diffuser.  Try and pick a seasonal scent that you and your family love and be sure to replace it each spring to create a specific family home fragrance that will evoke memories for many years to come.

Diffusers are also a great gift idea for someone who is passionate about their home and it’s so much more personal if it’s a scent they associate with you and your family.  Ensure your diffuser comes in a beautiful bottle that compliments your home style, and be sure to pick one that comes with refills so you can simply keep filling it up without having to replace the whole thing.

Create Cozy Nooks

The early spring sun may not be strong enough to warm us outside, however it can be beautifully warming when streaming through a glass window.  So look for an area in your home where the morning or mid afternoon sun floods in.  Add a cosy chair adorned with beautiful throws and cushions to create your own inviting little nook in the midst of spring where you can retreat with a book, snacks, coffee, wine (or all of the above).

With a few simple tweaks and additions, you can easily transform your home into a springtime haven that celebrates the beauty and freshness of the season whilst not spending a fortune.
